midnight444.net is run by midnight444, an independent music producer based in Scotland, UK. Privacy requests can be sent to privacy@midnight444.net.

This site doesn't ask you for any personal information. The only data processed is what every website needs in order to work. When your browser requests a page, the hosting provider receives technical details such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. An approximate city and country may be worked out from your IP address.

If you email me, your email address and message are used only to deal with your request.

This site doesn't use cookies, local storage or third-party scripts.

Vercel hosts the site and processes the request data above on my behalf. See Vercel's privacy notice.

Cloudflare registers the domain and runs its DNS, which tells browsers where to find the site. It also forwards emails sent to the contact address to my email provider. It doesn't serve the site's pages. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Request data is used only to deliver the site and keep it secure, for example to spot abuse or fix errors. Under UK GDPR, the legal basis is legitimate interests, since a website can't work without it. It isn't used to identify you, build profiles or show ads. It isn't sold, and it isn't shared beyond the providers above unless the law requires it.

Request logs are kept by Vercel for a limited time under its own retention settings, then deleted. I don't keep separate copies. Emails are deleted once they're no longer needed.

Vercel may process data outside the UK, including in the US, using safeguards recognised under UK law. Details are in Vercel's privacy notice.

Links to other websites take you away from this site. Once you're there, their own privacy policies and cookies apply, not this one.

Under UK data protection law, you have rights over personal data held about you, including to access, correct or delete it, and to object to how it's used. I don't try to identify visitors, and apart from emails sent to me, I don't keep personal data. Requests can be sent to privacy@midnight444.net.

If you're unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
